Solving erosion while transforming an overgrown hillside
After years of overgrowth hiding a worsening erosion problem, this homeowner wanted a long-term solution that would stabilize the hillside and make the slope look clean and intentional. Razor Sharp Lawn & Landscape cleared the site, installed a reinforced erosion control system, and added new plantings designed to root deeply and protect the hillside while improving curb appeal.
Once the overgrowth was removed, it became clear how much soil movement had occurred on the slope. We cut back the vegetation with a brush cutter and applied a 12-month herbicide treatment to prevent regrowth. After preparing the hillside, we installed jute erosion control mesh to secure the soil while the new plantings establish their root systems. A mix of flowering shrubs was added for beauty and stability, and a new irrigation system was installed to ensure consistent moisture and long-term plant health. The project was finished with a clean layer of pine straw for a polished look.
